9/21/2010 (updated 9/22/2010)

Hear Richard Thompson's 'House of Cards' covered by:
Robert Plant And Band Of Joy, Live In Concert at NPRmusic
Bowery Ballroom in New York City, 12 September 2010
Recorded by Edward Haber, Irene Trudel, George Wellington and Mike Poole.

Taken from a recent MSN Music interview -
Mark Brown: "What did you make of Robert Plant covering your song House of Cards on his new album, "Band of Joy?"

Richard Thompson: "Strange choice of songs. I haven't heard his version of it and how he's done it. But he's a good lad. He's a particularly wonderful musician if he records my songs."

At his opening sold out show in Memphis July 13th, Robert Plant performed
a rendition of House of Cards from the 1978 release, First Light.

After a halting reading of "House of Cards", Plant noted:
"That was a song from the catalog of Richard Thompson."

The track is also featured on Plant's upcoming CD Band of Joy
due for release Sep 14, 2010.

"House of Cards is a spectacular piece, great lyrics - Richard Thompson
has always been a guy I've admired greatly."
