Quick Q&A

RT answers Flip Feij's questions:

FF: What's the latest on DT? Is he likely to rejoin later this year?

RT: Danny is home and doing fine, his fairly minor operation was deemed a success. Because we didn't know his projected recovery time, Rory will be playing bass with the band for the rest of the summer. I've asked Danny if he fancies sitting in on a few tunes at selected venues - no concrete plans yet.

FF: How's the tour going this far? What was a newly gained insight - while touring this time?

RT: Tour has gone extremely well, audiences have been mostly large and enthusiastic, and I suppose the biggest change has been in the rhythm section (i.e. Half the band!). At this level, nobody's better than anyone else, but the different feels of Michael + Danny, Earl + Danny and Earl + Rory have been fascinating. I suppose a crude parallel would be to go from the Jimi Hendrix Experience to Sly and the Family Stone via Led Zeppelin, all in the folk-rock spirit, of course, and often with better musicianship.

FF: Will you definitely bring PZ, EH, RMF along to your upcoming European Continent & UK concerts?

RT: I believe all summer dates in Europe are with band - the Beesweb tour listings specify band or solo, if in doubt.

FF: Are you planning to bring a rig with the light/stage two Fenders & Ferrington across the ocean?

RT: The next European tour will use local PA and lights - drums and amps will also be local - I have amps I keep in the UK. Instruments and pedal boards, etc. are the only component that will be freighted, as per normal.

FF: Will More Guitar & 1000 Years be ava at Euro/UK-gigs?

RT: I believe so, yes. We have a recording of the Spring/Summer US and UK band tours, which may be ready by the beginning of the next US leg.

FF: Are you still thinking about doing a set of 1000 Yrs shows in the near future?

RT: The 1000 years shows i n the works are potentially - Chicago OT School of Folk Music, London TBA (Oct?) and Rhode Island RISD (Students, faculty, alumni only).

FF: Are you thinking about bringing out more old stuff through Beesweb's merchandise option? What possibly, when possibly?

RT: Yes, we'd like to, I don't know what or when.

FF: Do you know which two of your songs will be included on Del McCoury's forthcoming album?

RT: I don't know, but I'd like to find out.
