Jack Thompson's Great Strides Walk
5/8/2008 (updated 5/8/2008)

It's Jack Thompson here and this Saturday my mom Nancy and I are walking again for my little cousin Addie who was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was a baby. (My dad is in England or he would come too!). Im happy to say Addie is now 2 1/2 years old but we are hoping that with your help she will not only live to be a teenager like me but will reach old age.

Donations are the ONLY way we will find a cure for this disease. Pharmaceutical companies won't spend money on research because CF is considered an 'orphan disease' - not affecting enough people to make lots of money on drugs. But the life span of those with CF is getting longer and longer. So your donation is really important.

This year, I'm walking in the GREAT STRIDES walk at
The Crescent Bay Park in Santa Monica on 05/10/2008.

Please help me raise my fund-raising goal of $3000.00 by sponsoring me. Thanks to all you kind people I surpassed last year's goal and I hope to do that again.Your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as more than $.90 out of every dollar you contribute will be used to fund the vital programs of the CF Foundation.

Addie is a fun and lively kid who brings so much happiness to our family. We really appreciate your help in giving hope to Addie and her parents, my cousins Scott and Elise. Thank you so much for your donation.

This Saturday Jack and I are joining the Great Strides Walk in Santa Monica to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis. Our family was shocked when My little niece Addie was diagnosed with CF when she was a baby. Addie will be 3 in the fall and it is hard to imagine that this energetic kid might not live a long life. Her parents, my nephew Scott and his wife Elise, are amazing and have dedicated their life to caring for and helping find a cure for Addie.

If you are able to join us Saturday in Santa Monica please sign up. We realize that it is impossible for most people to do this so we would really appreciate your support by making a donation to Jack's walk. Thanks to the support of so many last year Jack even surpassed his goal! This year however we have very little time to raise the money. But if you can take a moment now to send in a donation, large or small, we will be able to meet Jack's current goal and go a long ways in helping the CF foundation.

If you can please take a look at the montage of photos that Scott and Elise put together. It's very moving and I love the music!

Thanks again. Hope you can join us in person or online.
